Wash Care

Like any good relationship, caring for your knitwear is key to their longevity.
Welcome to our guide on how to care for and handle your precious cashmere, wool, and silk garments. These fabrics are synonymous with luxury and require special attention to maintain
their softness, shape, and longevity. Below, essential tips and recommendations to ensure your garments remain in pristine condition for years to come.
Wash less frequently. It may seem counterintuitive, but less exposure to water is better for knitwear.
Use instead a delicate Wool Spray to freshen up your knits.

WASHING:
Hand Washing: Cashmere, wool, and silk should ideally be hand-washed in cold water using a gentle detergent specifically formulated for delicate fabrics. Avoid using harsh chemicals or bleach.
Avoid Agitation: When washing, gently swirl the garment in the water instead of vigorously scrubbing or wringing, which can distort the fibers.

Washing machine: You can easily wash your cashmere in a washing machine. Choose a short specific wool laundry program and make sure that you do not wash it in water that is warmer than 30 degrees and do not centrifuge the garment.

Use a wool detergent and do not use fabric softener.

DRYING:
Flat Dry: After washing, reshape the garment and lay it flat on a clean towel to air dry.
Avoid hanging cashmere and silk as it can stretch the fibers.

STORAGE:
Fold, NOT Hang: Cashmere and silk should be folded to prevent stretching at the shoulders.
Use Breathable Storage: Store in breathable cotton garment bags or containers to protect from dust and moths.
Avoid plastic bags as they can trap moisture.

MAINTENANCE:
Pilling: To maintain the luxurious feel of your cashmere, it’s natural for some pilling to occur, especially in areas of friction. Gently remove these pills by hand, with a cashmere comb, or with a cashmere shaving machine, taking care not to pull or stretch the fabric. Regular care will keep your cashmere looking smooth and refined for years to come.

Ironing: Silk and wool should be ironed on low heat while slightly damp to avoid shine and damage. Use a pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric.

Professional Care: Dry Cleaning: if the care label recommends dry cleaning, choose a reputable dry cleaner experienced with delicate fabrics.
